Srixon
Srixon’s name carries its manufacturing lineage. Dunlop explains it through the initials of Sumitomo Rubber Industries and “ON,” for onward. The brand sits within a history of golf-ball and club development that also includes Dunlop, XXIO and Cleveland Golf.1

The company chronology records Srixon Sports USA in 1997 and Srixon Sports Europe in 2001. Those are dates for regional sales companies, rather than the beginning of the parent business. They mark steps in building the brand’s presence beyond Japan.2
The Z-STAR ball arrived in 2009, followed by Z-STAR XV in 2010. Srixon’s Z series golf clubs followed in 2012. These model milestones give a ball box or club a more specific place in the archive than the company name alone.2
