Limited site analytics

The Archive uses Google Analytics 4 to measure public page views, general traffic sources, approximate region, and broad device categories such as mobile or desktop. This helps decide what to preserve, research, and improve.

Google applies region-specific consent defaults. Analytics storage is granted by default where prior consent is not required and denied by default in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, and Switzerland. In those regions, Google may receive limited cookie-free consent and measurement signals while storage is denied. You can use Analytics choices in the footer to share page analytics or opt out. The Archive does not send names, email addresses, contact submissions, searches, membership links, owner pages, or URLs containing query details to Google Analytics. Advertising and personalization storage remain off.

Your choice

Your selection is saved in this browser. Choose Analytics choices in the footer at any time to change it. Choosing No thanks turns analytics off and removes first-party Google Analytics cookies the Archive can access.

Correspondence and membership

Information you deliberately submit through correspondence or membership forms is used to respond, maintain your membership, provide membership benefits, or deliver the free Letters you requested. It is not added to Google Analytics.

Optional text sign-in

American Golf Archive LLC offers optional text-message sign-in and phone-verification codes. If you enroll, we use your mobile number, verification status, and records of your consent to provide this service, protect your account, and honor opt-out requests. Email sign-in remains available.

We do not sell your mobile number or share mobile information, SMS opt-in data, or consent with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. We share the information needed to authenticate your account and deliver messages with service providers, including Amazon Web Services and telecommunications providers. Those providers process it to operate the service. SMS enrollment does not subscribe you to marketing texts or the Archive's Letters.

We retain your number and verification information while needed for text sign-in. Consent, security, and opt-out records may be retained afterward to prevent unwanted messages, investigate misuse, and meet legal obligations. Reply STOP to opt out. To request access, correction, or deletion of your phone information, write to archive@americangolfarchive.org. Opting out of texts does not automatically delete your membership or past consent records. See the SMS Terms for rates, frequency, and help.

The Pro Shop

Shopify provides product availability, checkout and order management for the Pro Shop. When you browse merchandise, AGA requests product information from Shopify and forwards your IP address as part of those requests. Product photographs are served from Shopify's content network.

When a confirmed member checks out, AGA shares the verified email address and membership eligibility with Shopify to apply the member discount. Member-only orders also include a private membership reference so AGA can check eligibility and release purchase limits before shipping.

Checkout collects the contact, delivery and payment information needed to process and fulfill an order. Shopify and its payment providers handle payment details; the AGA website does not collect or store card numbers. AGA uses order information for shipping, returns, support and purchase limits.

Essential, protected browser cookies keep your cart for up to seven days. AGA keeps encrypted checkout references for up to 31 days to distinguish completed orders from abandoned checkouts and update your cart correctly. Buying merchandise or receiving a member discount does not subscribe you to the Archive's Letters.

If you request an availability alert, AGA stores your email and the selected product and option to send one availability email. Member-only alerts also use your membership reference to check eligibility before sending. Requests expire after 90 days. You can cancel using your request receipt or contact the Archive. Finished or cancelled requests and their delivery records are removed after 30 days during routine maintenance. A protected 30-minute cookie lets the browser that submitted a new request display its cancellation receipt. Availability alerts do not subscribe you to Letters.
