Scotty Cameron
A block of carbon steel became the Classic 1, the first model in Cameron Golf International’s 1993 Classic Series. Its head was milled, meaning metal was cut away to form the shape, then given a black oxide finish. The model later became the Newport in the Titleist line.2

Scotty Cameron had designed putters for other makers, including Ray Cook, Cleveland Classics and Mizuno, before establishing Cameron Golf International with his wife, Kathy. His official biography dates that venture to 1992 and the partnership with Acushnet to September 1994.1
The Classic 1 archive records a 34.5-inch putter length, 3 degrees of loft and a 72-degree lie angle. These measurements sit alongside the softer corners and rounded top edge described by the maker. They identify a particular early model, rather than a specification shared by every Cameron putter.2
