Muirfield

Old Tom Morris’s first Muirfield layout was confined to 117 acres within stone walls. Further land purchases created room to reshape the course.¹

Beyond the original stone walls

After fifty more acres were secured in 1923, Harry Colt introduced fourteen new holes. His two nine-hole loops run in opposite directions, with one inside the other.¹
