Main Course
The Main Course at The Country Club combines the Clyde and Squirrel nines. Its origins lie in the six holes laid out by members in 1893, followed by Willie Campbell’s work after he became the Club’s professional in 1894.1

Clyde and Squirrel
Campbell helped add three holes and revise the first six; the course reached eighteen holes in 1899. The USGA describes this development as collaborative, with the founding golf committee and later architects contributing to the grounds.3
Ouimet’s 1913 U.S. Open victory came on the original Clyde and Squirrel course. Later championship routings also drew holes from Primrose. The distinction matters when following a tournament through the property: the Main Course and the Open Course describe different arrangements of the Club’s golf.2
