Blue Course (2010)
Before the 2011 U.S. Open, Rees Jones changed how Congressional’s Blue Course finished. In 2006 he reversed the old par-three eighteenth to create a new tenth, making the former seventeenth the closing hole. The redesign altered the sequence without abandoning most of the course’s established corridors.1

The Blue Course prepared for 2011
The greens were later rebuilt to USGA standards while retaining their 1989 contours. Changes made in 2010 included a longer eighteenth tee and a shift of the eleventh fairway toward its stream. This is the course configuration documented before the 2011 championship, rather than an account of later redesign work.1
