Davis Love III and Mark Love redesigned Retreat in 2001. Geographically separate from Seaside and Plantation, the course gained roughly three hundred yards while receiving wider fairways and a more open profile.¹

The Loves’ separate Retreat course

Large Georgia pines and native oaks remain defining features. At the second hole, a left-side fairway bunker influences the drive before an approach to a green sloping from back to front, rewarding a ball kept below the hole.¹
