Bethpage Blue opened in 1935 alongside the Red Course. Its original design belongs to the park’s Depression-era expansion of public golf.¹

The front nine crosses some of Bethpage’s highest ground, with blind landing areas and elevated greens. At the turn, the course shifts to a flatter and shorter back nine.¹
