Cypress Point grew from Marion Hollins’ vision for golf on the Monterey Peninsula. She brought Alister MacKenzie into a project whose raw materials included Pacific shoreline, sand dunes and cypress groves.1

The success of Cypress Point was followed by another Hollins undertaking at Pasatiempo near Santa Cruz. She again worked with MacKenzie, extending a relationship that helped shape an important chapter of California golf.1
