Baltimore Country Club

Baltimore Country Club began at Roland Park in 1898 and hosted the U.S. Open the following year. Willie Smith won that championship before the Club’s later expansion to Five Farms north of the city.¹

Baltimore Country Club history

Two fires, in October 1930 and January 1931, devastated the Roland Park clubhouse. Its replacement opened in April 1932 with duckpin bowling lanes. The Club retained this urban home after Roland Park’s golf course closed in 1962.¹
