Pine Valley Golf Club
Pine Valley began with George Arthur Crump’s 1913 purchase of land in New Jersey’s Pine Barrens for a group of Philadelphia golfing associates. While the others organized the Club, Crump concentrated on designing and building the course.1

George Crump’s consuming project
Construction difficulties and escalating costs threatened the project. Crump lived mainly on the grounds during the work and committed substantial personal resources to keep the Club going. He died in 1918 before the course was complete.1
