Glen Echo Country Club
Colonel George S. McGrew drove the creation of Glen Echo after a golfing visit to Scotland. The planned institution was initially called Mound City Club, but early in 1901 it adopted Glen Echo instead.1

Glen Echo Country Club history
The Club’s place in international sport followed quickly. It hosted the golf matches of the 1904 Olympics, linking this St. Louis institution to the game’s early Olympic history.1
