Pittsburgh Field Club
Pittsburgh Field Club began as the Pittsburgh Cricket Club, chartered in 1882 in Regent Square. Golf arrived in 1895, followed by the Field Club name and a broader sporting charter in 1896.1

From cricket to the Field Club
When Henry Clay Frick ended the property lease in 1914, members acquired a new 171-acre site. The new course and clubhouse opened in June 1915; a fire destroyed that clubhouse in 1924, and its replacement followed the next year.1
