Northwood’s development began with the selection of a property in 1946. The Club considered designs by Bill Diddel and Perry Maxwell, choosing Diddel for the new course.1

A Dallas club’s rapid national arrival
The course opened in 1948 and hosted the U.S. Open only four years later. Julius Boros won that 1952 championship, giving the young Dallas institution an early place in the national game.1
