Big Spring
Big Spring began in 1926 with the acquisition of the 163-acre R. S. Veech Beargrass Stock Farm near Louisville. The spring that supplied the Club’s name remains a physical landmark near the thirteenth hole.1

Big Spring history
During World War II the Club offered special memberships to military personnel near Bowman Field. Its identity later broadened beyond golf, and in 1962 it became Big Spring Country Club as facilities for families expanded.1
