Liberty National opened on July 4, 2006 after nearly fourteen years of planning and construction. Paul Fireman and his son Dan led the development on a Jersey City site with a long industrial past.1

Reclaiming a Jersey City waterfront
The land had held oil infrastructure, warehouses and military uses. Its conversion to golf retained a striking relationship with the harbor, facing the Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island and Manhattan.1
