Llanerch began as Delaware County Country Club and adopted its present name in 1919. Its course traces an early architectural chapter to Alexander Findlay.1

Llanerch Country Club history
The Club hosted the 1958 PGA Championship when the tournament abandoned match play for four rounds of stroke play. Dow Finsterwald won the first championship under the new format.1
