Milwaukee Country Club was among the nine founding members of the Wisconsin State Golf Association in 1901. The association brought together Clubs from around the state to organize competition.1

Milwaukee and the beginnings of Wisconsin competition
Milwaukee member Hamilton Vose became the association’s first president and won its inaugural State Amateur at Sinnissippi. Administrative leadership and competitive success were joined in the same Club member at the association’s beginning.1
