Columbus Country Club’s grounds began as Orlando A. Miller’s horseman’s club in 1903, with bridle paths running through the estate. Golf soon displaced riding as the property’s defining activity.¹

Columbus Country Club history

Fire badly damaged the clubhouse on January 6, 1962. Rebuilding was complete by Thanksgiving the following year, before the Club hosted the 1964 PGA Championship, won by Bobby Nichols.¹
