Championship golf and a charitable stage

From 1996 through 2003, the Dayton’s Challenge brought exhibition golf to the Club in support of the Children’s Cancer Research Fund. Tom and Jim Lehman helped organize an event whose 1998 field included Arnold Palmer, Jack Nicklaus and Gary Player.1

The 1950 U.S. Amateur final went to a 39th hole before Sam Urzetta defeated Frank Stranahan at Minneapolis.2
