Hershey Country Club
Milton Hershey founded Hershey Country Club in 1930 to give residents a place for recreation and relaxation. Golf was part of a broader provision for the community, rather than an activity detached from the town around it.1

Recreation within Hershey’s community
That recreational ambition extended to younger players. The Club records a separate Juvenile Golf Club course, designed by Maurice McCarthy in 1932 for players seventeen and younger. Later renamed Spring Creek, it originally charged thirty-five cents for nine holes.1
