Harding Park (Tpc) Golf Club
San Francisco’s Harding Park opened beside Lake Merced on July 18, 1925, named for President Warren Harding. Decades of tournament play gave way to deterioration, and in 1998 the course served as parking for the U.S. Open at neighboring Olympic Club.1

From parking lot back to championship golf
Former USGA president Sandy Tatum helped assemble support for its revival. A sixteen-million-dollar project in 2002–03 rebuilt the course and improved supporting facilities. Harding reopened on August 22, 2003, recovering a public golf ground that had been reduced to serving another venue’s championship.1
