Oak Tree National
Ernie Vossler and Joe Walser gave Pete Dye an unusually direct brief in the mid-1970s: make their Oklahoma course exceptionally difficult. The Club occupies 640 acres in Edmond and takes its name from the oak standing at the fifth hole.1

A demanding commission in Edmond
The institution adopted the name Oak Tree National in 2009. Its own history connects that change with the ambition to continue hosting USGA and PGA championships, a role already established by its early national tournaments.1
