The Estancia Club
Estancia’s development grew from the transformation of land around Pinnacle Peak. Jerry Nelson secured water and assembled property there; a later group led by John Lang and Al DuVaul pursued the private resort and residential project.1

Estancia Club, The history
Financing and planning delayed the venture. The City of Scottsdale approved an amended development plan in December 1994, and site work began the next month. The plan anticipated eventually transferring the golf course and Club property to the members.1
