Wannamoisett began in June 1898, when three men met to discuss a Club for golf and other outdoor sports. Their proposal became the foundation of the Rhode Island institution.1

Wannamoisett grows from a sporting idea
The Club hosted the 1931 PGA Championship and later became the home of the Northeast Amateur Invitational. Its competitive history spans both professional and amateur golf.1
