Dallas Athletic Club began as a downtown athletic project proposed in 1919 by a group led by T. L. Monagan and W. E. Greiner. Its city building combined sports facilities, offices and residential floors.1

Dallas Athletic Club history
The Club merged with Glen Lakes Golf & Country Club in 1944, then bought 350 acres of the Chapman Ranch in 1952 for a new golf home. Architect Ralph Plummer was engaged to build the courses.1
