Butler National developed in Oak Brook during the early 1970s. Contractor I. C. “Red” Harbour coordinated its construction project, part of a wider body of work his company undertook in the growing community.1

Butler National Golf Club history
Scott Verplank won the Western Open in 1985 as an amateur. He also captured that year’s Western Amateur, becoming the first amateur since Chick Evans to win both titles.2
