Hazeltine National Golf Club
Hazeltine’s founders set out to build a course capable of staging national championships. The first arrived in 1966 with the U.S. Women’s Open; Tony Jacklin won the U.S. Open there four years later.1

A Club created for national competition
The 1991 U.S. Open ended with Payne Stewart defeating Scott Simpson in a playoff. That championship followed substantial architectural changes as the Club worked to improve its original test.1
