Ballyneal Golf & Hunt Club
Jim O’Neal saw the possibility of golf in the dunes south of Holyoke around 1979. The idea revived when his brother Rupert proposed a course alongside the family’s hunting business. Together they bought 700 acres from a local farmer.1

The brothers hired Tom Doak in 2002. His team spent two years studying the ground before construction began; Doak struck the first ball in the summer of 2006.1
