Jack Lupton founded The Honors Course with a mission centered on amateur golf. The Club opened at the foot of White Oak Mountain near Chattanooga on July 2, 1983.1

Jack Lupton’s commitment to amateur golf
Its national amateur championships have included the 1991 U.S. Amateur and the 1994 Curtis Cup. The latter ended in a 9–9 tie, allowing Great Britain and Ireland to retain the trophy.1
