Pelham Country Club
Pelham began in 1908 with tennis and five golf holes cut from a cow pasture. In 1921, member Mont Rogers organized the land purchase and hired Devereux Emmet to create a championship course.1

From pasture golf to Barnes’s homecoming
The Club’s first professional, Jim Barnes, won the 1921 U.S. Open shortly after the new course opened. Pelham celebrated his return and made President Warren Harding, who presented the trophy, an honorary member.1
