Moraine Country Club
Moraine opened for play in 1930 on land from Edward Deeds’s Moraine Farm. Deeds joined Charles Kettering, James Cox and Frederick Rike in establishing the Club, with Alec “Nipper” Campbell designing the course across its glacially shaped hills.1

A Dayton course with a championship moment
The 1945 PGA Championship brought Byron Nelson to Moraine during his extraordinary winning streak. He defeated Sam Byrd, 4 and 3, in the final to claim his second PGA title. The victory was his ninth consecutive tournament win that season.2
