Laurel Valley Golf Club
Laurel Valley’s own brochure recalls land once used for hunting grouse and pheasant. In the 1950s, business leaders chose it for a golf retreat, hiring Dick Wilson and beginning construction in June 1958. The course opened the following summer.1

Arnold Palmer’s association with the Club reached an international stage in 1975. He captained the United States at Laurel Valley as the team defeated Great Britain and Ireland, 21–11, in the Ryder Cup.2
