Hermitage Country Club
Hermitage began in Richmond in 1900, with golf on temporary greens at its Broad Street property that November. A railway terminal later displaced that first site, prompting the move to Hilliard Road when the Club incorporated in 1916.1

Hermitage Country Club history
The institution acquired its present Goochland property in 1971. Its continuity is also expressed through competitions: the Valentine Invitational began in 1931, while the Tommy Galloway Father-Son tournament followed in the 1950s.1
