Scioto opened in 1916 as the Upper Arlington community was taking shape. Bobby Jones won the 1926 U.S. Open there, adding the American title to his British Open victory that season.1

The Club also shaped a much younger golfer. Jack Nicklaus began winning its junior events under professional Jack Grout’s guidance, establishing the relationship between teacher and player that became central to his development.1
