Sam Snead joined The Greenbrier as an assistant professional in 1936. He returned as the resort’s golf professional from 1946 through 1974, linking the property with a major figure in the professional game.1

Sam Snead’s long Greenbrier association
Snead became professional emeritus in 1993 and retained that position until his death in 2002. His memorabilia and the resort’s restaurant names preserve an association spanning several distinct periods of employment.1
